Field protocol to screen soft bottom macrobenthic invertebrates collected in lotic environments using a sampler catcher

Abstract


The lotic pattern of a river and identified as a linear structure that shows a gradual increase in size that make them possible classifies them as; headwaters, streams of small, medium and large. The conformation of this environment has a strong influence on the behavior and physiology of aquatic biodiversity, and alterations in these interference patterns can generate damage on macroinvertebrate communities. Studies of macroinvertebrate communities are increasingly being proposed in most studies of quality of lotic environments , and listed correctly increase the reliability study. The aim of this study was to develop a roadmap for a practice in collecting and sorting samples of benthic macro invertebrates using a catcher background. A methodology was proposed in order to produce quantitative and qualitative data, applied in three steps: 1 - collecting sediment, 2 - and 3 characterize the environment - screening laboratory, step1, this subdivided into three sub-steps: material collected, identification of collected bags and transport of samples.
