Analysis of different modes of fishing in Brazil, concerns and prospects

Abstract


The purpose of this paper is to analytically describe the national fishing activity, differentiating the various practices applied based on the published literature on each. To effect of analyze was chosen fisheries subsistence, sport, artisanal and industrial, not choosing to address more specific branches like fishing ornamental species, even this represents great resource for certain regions. Was found in the study that there are still several areas where the lack of resources and the precarious quality of life people to venture into rivers, lakes and swamp to remove their livelihoods, in counterpart, in the other places, the presence of man reduces the performance condition in fishing, forcing the readjust of activity and get fishing areas more distant from the mainland, making it impossible, for example, for small-scale fishing. By contrast, industrial fishing when used has a much greater ability to capture, thus reducing some populations. In the case of sport fishing, there is also the advent of economic, for as well as encouraging visits of people from all over the world, is still a source of creation and jobs, direct and indirect, and income for the areas when the sport exist.
