O impacto no mercado financeiro brasileiro diante de uma pandemia: reflexões sobre o COVID-19 e a economia

Abstract

A pandemia do novo Coronavírus (COVID-19) trouxe incertezas ao cenário global. Uma crise de saúde pública e financeira alcançou os cidadãos em vulnerabilidade social, porém o impacto deste evento mundial foi sentido em todas as classes sociais. Este trabalho teve como objetivo discutir e refletir sobre o impacto da pandemia do novo Coronavírus, o COVID-19, no cenário econômico financeiro brasileiro, por meio de uma pesquisa teórica e bibliográfica, em artigos e sites oficiais. A pesquisa levantou pontos de vistas otimistas e pessimistas, mas o ponto de concordância entre os especialistas é que as consequências da recessão, gerada pelas medidas restritivas, serão negativas para a economia, a curto e longo prazo. Por fim, conclui-se que as crises econômicas sempre existiram na história, e todas elas tiveram um fim. Como as pessoas irão se comportar após a pandemia, aliado às políticas públicas adotadas por cada país é que irão determinar quão rápido as nações irão se levantar dessa recessão econômica.

The impact on the Brazilian financial market in the face of a pandemic: reflections on COVID-19 and the economy

The pandemic of the new Coronavirus (COVID-19) has brought uncertainty to the global scenario. A public and financial health crisis reached citizens in social vulnerability, but the impact of this global event was felt in all social classes. This study aimed to discuss and reflect on the impact of the new Coronavirus pandemic, COVID-19, on the Brazilian financial economic scenario, through theoretical and bibliographic research, in articles and official websites. The survey raised optimistic and pessimistic views, but the point of agreement among experts is that the consequences of the recession, generated by restrictive measures, will be negative for the economy in the short and long term. Finally, it is concluded that economic crises have always existed in history, and they all ended. How people will behave after the pandemic, coupled with public policies adopted by each country, will determine how quickly nations will rise from this economic recession.
