Variação temporal do NDVI da Bacia Hidrográfica do Rio Itanhaém – São Paulo, Brasil

Abstract

Resumo: Técnicas de sensoriamento remoto para estudos ambientais têm sido cada vez mais utilizadas, assim como a disponibilidade de imagens de satélites gratuitas têm aumentado. O objetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar dinamicamente a cobertura vegetal na Bacia Hidrográfica do Rio Itanhaém, através de técnicas de sensoriamento remoto para determinar os Índices de Vegetação por Diferença Normalizada - NDVI. Para tal, foram utilizadas imagens obtidas do satélite Landsat 8 dos anos de 2013 e 2020. O NDVI foi calculado, elaborados mapas temáticos de sua distribuição espacial e estimada a porcentagem de sua variação. Os resultados indicaram que durante este período de sete anos houve reduções pontuais da vegetação próximo a área urbana, entretanto o NDVI médio para a área estudada não se alterou.

Temporal variation of the NDVI of the Itanhaém River Basin - São Paulo, Brazil

Abstract: Remote sensing techniques for environmental studies have been increasingly used, as well as the availability of free satellite images has increased. The aim of the present study was to dynamically evaluate the vegetation cover in the Itanhaém River Basin, using remote sensing techniques to determine the Normalized Difference Vegetation Indices - NDVI. For this purpose, images obtained from the Landsat 8 satellite for the years 2013 and 2020 were used. The NDVI was calculated, thematic maps of its spatial distribution were drawn up and the percentage of its variation was estimated. The results indicated that during this seven-year period there were occasional reductions in vegetation close to the urban area, however the average NDVI for the studied area did not change.
