HERBÁRIO RADAMBRASIL, BAHIA (HRB)
Abstract
Abstract: The RADAMBRASIL Herbarium (HRB), administered by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) has its facilities located in Salvador Botanical Garden (JBSSA). Much of their collections are originated from field work developed by RADAMBRASIL, having samples of plant specimens from various biomes of Brazil. Having an inestimable value, its collections represent a national asset to the knowledge of Brazilian Flora. Currently, the HRB Herbarium has catalogued about 61,178 records, existing 70 specimens types, including 6 holotypes, 33 paratypes and 21 isotypes. HRB has been supporting studies developed in the JBSSA in their scientific projects, as well providing support to universities and research institutions. With the development of HRB's scientific collections database, all information relating to their collections are being migrated and compiled in order to facilitate access to interested public.
