HERBÁRIO DA UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DE SERGIPE, SERGIPE (ASE)
Abstract
Abstract: The ASE Herbarium houses about 33,000 plants records including flowering plants, gymnosperms, ferns and lycophytes and a small collection of macroscopic algae, most of which (90%) come from Sergipe and Northeast of Brazil. More than 11,000 digitized images are available online, and it is expected that the entire collection is scanned by the end of 2016. All the collections of the National Forest Inventory are registered in ASE, where we had access to botanical material of areas that were not much collected in Sergipe. In addition, as a result of ASE Material analysis for the making of botanical series Flora of Sergipe, eight species new to science have been discovered and published, having the type-specimens deposited at the Herbarium. Among them: three holotypes three isotypes and four paratypes. From the beginning of the digitalization until the present date, the ASE Herbarium donated 8.500 duplicates for other herbaria to identify or to expand.
