HERBÁRIO DO MUSEU DE CIÊNCIAS E TECNOLOGIA DA PUCRS, RIO GRANDE DO SUL (MPUC)

Abstract

Resumo: O Herbário do Museu de Ciências e Tecnologia da PUCRS (MPUC) possui 21.000 registros, a maioria de angiospermas. A coleção abrange principalmente plantas nativas no Rio Grande do Sul. Também fazem parte da coleção fungos e fungos liquenizados, com destaque para o gênero Usnea Dill. ex Adans. O acervo possui dez espécimes tipo. Toda a coleção está informatizada e disponível para consulta pública através do sistema speciesLink e da base de dados GBIF. O MPUC contribui para a pesquisa em taxonomia de plantas e fungos através das visitas científicas que recebe e dos empréstimos que realiza. Contribui ainda para o ensino proporcionando visitas dirigidas a alunos do Ensino Fundamental, Médio e Superior.

Abstract: The Herbarium of the Museum of Sciences and Technology of PUCRS (MPUC) has about 21,000 records, mostly angiosperms. The collection covers mainly native plants in Rio Grande do Sul. Besides the plants, the herbarium also has a fungi and lichenized fungi collection, among which stands out the genera Usnea Dill. ex Adans. The collection has ten type specimens. The entire collection is computerized and available to the public through the speciesLink system and database GBIF. The MPUC contributes to research in taxonomy of plants and fungi through scientific visits it receives and the loans it makes. It also contributes to education, providing guided visits for students at all educational levels.
