HERBÁRIO DO MUSEU DE CIÊNCIAS NATURAIS DA PONTIFÍCIA UNIVERSIDADE CATÓLICA DE MINAS GERAIS (HPUC)

Abstract

Resumo: O Herbário (HPUC-MG) foi oficialmente implantado no Museu de Ciências Naturais da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais no dia 2 de março de 2009. O seu acervo contempla 5.119 espécimes disponibilizados on-line pelo speciesLink. Dentre estes, podemos destacar angiospermas e briófitas como os grupos taxonômicos que contribuem com o maior número de amostras, 3.802 e 765, respectivamente. Além disso, estão catalogados no HPUC-MG 193 espécimes de fungos liquenizados; 234 exemplares de pteridófitas, 44 exemplares na xiloteca e 82 frutos na coleção carpológica, sejam em via úmida ou em via seca. Os objetivos principais do HPUC-MG são possibilitar a identificação, montagem, catalogação, acondicionamento, intercâmbio e manutenção de espécies vegetais; subsidiar trabalhos e estudos na área da botânica, atuando nos três pilares: ensino, pesquisa e extensão. Desta forma, o HPUC-MG procura trabalhar, cada vez mais, para a conservação do patrimônio histórico, científico e cultural do país.

Abstract: The HPUC-MG Herbarium was inaugurated at the Scientific Natural Museum of Pontifícia Universidade Católica Minas Gerais in March 2^nd , 2009. It accomplishes 5.119 specimens registered on-line through speciesLink. Among them, angiosperms and bryophytes may be emphasized as the main taxonomic groups which contribute with the biggest number of samples, 3802 and 765, respectively. Moreover, 193 specimens of liquenized fungi; 234 specimens of ferns; 44 samples in the wood collection and 82 specimens of fruits have also been catalogued. The main goals of HPUC-MG Herbarium are: identification; assembly; registration, maintenance, specimens exchange with other educational institutions; conduction of botany studies based on three important pillars - education, research and community. Thereby, the herbarium is always working towards the protection of the historical scientific and cultural patrimony of the country.
