HERBÁRIO PE. CAMILLE TORREND, PERNAMBUCO (URM)

Abstract

Resumo: O herbário Pe. Camille Torrend (URM) destaca-se no país como o único dedicado exclusivamente aos fungos e o acervo é um dos maiores da América Latina. Características da coleção, representatividade regional e perspectivas são apresentados. O herbário URM tem hoje mais de 88.000 fungos registrados, a maioria de coletas realizadas no Norte e Nordeste do país, principalmente nos estados do Maranhão, Pernambuco, Amazonas e Amapá. Da coleção constam mais de 1.200 typus, na maioria depositados por Chaves Batista e equipe. Todo o acervo encontra-se informatizado e disponível online no INCT-Herbário Virtual e em outras plataformas, como GBIF, SiBBr e IDigBio. Recentemente também estão sendo disponibilizadas imagens, de fungos macro e microscópicos.

Abstract: The Pe. Camille Torrend (URM) herbarium stands out in Brazil as the only one exclusively dedicated to fungi, and the collection is one of the largest in Latin America. Characteristics of the collection, regional representatives and perspectives are presented. The URM herbarium holds more than 88,000 registered fungi, most of them from collections of the North and Northeast regions of the country, mainly in the States of Maranhão, Pernambuco, Amazonas e Amapá. The collection include more than 1,200 typus, mostly deposited by Chaves Batista and staff. The entire collection is computerized and available online at INCT-Virtual Herbarium and other platforms such as GBIF, SiBBr e IDigBio. Recently are also being provided images, of macroscopic and microscopic fungi.
