HERBÁRIO UNIVERSIDADE ESTADUAL DE SANTA CRUZ (UESC), BAHIA

Abstract

Resumo: O Herbário UESC está localizado no Município de Ilhéus, região litorânea do Sul da Bahia. Está entre um dos mais novos herbários do Estado da Bahia - reativado em 1995 - e conta com amostras coletadas principalmente no Sudeste da Bahia e doações recebidas de outros herbários regionais. Sua coleção consiste de exsicatas, xiloteca, carpoteca, espermoteca, fototeca, micoteca e laminário, além de flores em fixadores e dos typus nomenclaturais. Está vinculado ao Centro de Referência em Informação Ambiental (CRIA/INCT) e incluído, desde 2009, no Index Herbariorum. Em 2015, foi registrado e já está disponível no Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) e, em breve, no Sistema de Informação sobre Biodiversidade Brasileira (SiBBr). Além disso, está credenciado pelo Conselho de Gestão do Patrimônio Genético (CGEN) do Ministério do Meio Ambiente, como depositário de amostras do patrimônio genético. O seu acervo está composto por aproximadamente 22 mil exsicatas, representadas por 283 famílias. Com base somente nas registradas, as mais representativas são: Fabaceae (1.505 exsicatas), Cyperaceae (890), Malpighiaceae (719), Malvaceae (689), Euphorbiaceae (615), Asteraceae (584), Rubiaceae (380) e Bromeliaceae (341).

Abstract: The Herbarium UESC is located in the city of Ilheus, the coastal region of Southern Bahia. It is among the newest Bahia State herbarium - reactivated in 1995 - and has samples collected mainly in Southeast Bahia and received donations from other regional herbarium. It collection consists of exsiccates, wood, fruit, seed, photo library, and mycology collections, as well slide collection. It is linked to the Reference Center for Environmental Information (CRIA/INCT) and included, since 2009, the Index Herbarium. In 2015, it was recorded and is now available in the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) and, soon, the Information System Brazilian Biodiversity (SiBBr). Furthermore, it is accredited by the Board of Management of Genetic Heritage (CGEN) of the Ministry of Environment, as depositary of the genetic heritage samples. The collection is composed of approximately 22,000 exsiccates, represented by 283 family. Based only on registered, the most significant are: Fabaceae (1,505 herbarium specimens), Cyperaceae (890), Malpighiaceae (719), Malvaceae (689), Euphorbiaceae (615), Asteraceae (584), Rubiaceae (380) and Bromeliaceae (341).
