Using the Matlab Computational tool for modeling air conditioning control system
Abstract
Among the trends of rational use of resources, mainly energy, and the need to ensure productivity and quality in the execution of productive activities stands out the concept of intelligent building. This environment materializes the concept of integration of the building systems, enhancing the optimization of resources and the efficiency of human work. In this context, conceptual approaches based on discrete event systems with application in the Matlab tool have been introduced as an effective alternative of modeling and analysis of the integration solutions of the building systems. Expressive results can be obtained with the application of these initiatives through the proposed methods for the modeling and analysis of air conditioning management strategies, using a hybrid approach, where the aspects of discrete event systems and the variables of continuous dynamics are considered. However, existing approaches and methods are limited to specific implementation solutions, such as continuous air volume air conditioning systems. Thus, the present work introduces an extension of these approaches to model and analyze building automation solutions that include air conditioning systems with variable air volume. The efficiency of this method in the design and validation of these solutions is illustrated through a case study.
