Abstract

 The RFA herbarium currently has about 40.000 records in its collection. Of these, about 30,000 are phanerogams. Among the cryptogams, there are still about 10,000 samples to be included. About 5,000 specimens of this collection are from the project "Extracta". This sampling project performed only in particular areas of the State of Rio de Janeiro. Until now, about 25,000 specimens are with their records electronically stored, but with no images available. The collection includes 31 nomenclatural types of 26 species distributed in 13 families, including: 12 holotypes, 11 isotypes, seven paratypes and one isoparatype.
