Abstract
The FCAB herbarium has about 6,500 records, predominantly of vascular plants, but it also has some samples of mosses, algae, fungi and lichens. The data of the samples are already in a database and soon will start the digitalization. The creation of the course of Biological Sciences at PUC-Rio, in 2011, gave new dimension to the collection, making it more dynamic by incorporating many new samples from collections made by the professors and students of the course. The inclusion in the organizational structure of the Department of Biology, its accession in 2014 to the INCT Virtual Herbarium of Flora and Fungi and this year, to the SiBBr and GBIF, restored its full operation, including the attendance of experts and graduate students.
