Abstract
The Rio Grande do Sul Herbarium Network emerged in 1997, with the aim of bringing together the State's herbaria and, through its curators, promoting the appreciation and preservation of collections in the respective institutions. Currently 20 herbaria from different regions of the State are part of the network, of which eight participate in the INCT project – Virtual Herbarium of Flora and Fungi. The availability of data from these collections allows greater knowledge about the biodiversity of southern Brazil.
