Abstract
This work sought to characterize soil samples, based on a profile of the coastal plain, starting from Serra do Mar to the beach side, in the municipality of Bertioga, on the coast of the State of São Paulo. The survey was carried out in three areas with different physiognomies: Floresta Alta de Restinga, transition area between Floresta Alta de Restinga and Floresta Paludosa, Floresta Baixa de Restinga; Beach and Dune Vegetation and Mangrove, approximately 20 cm deep. The analysis found the highest water and organic matter content in Brejo de Restinga. The other results were compiled in a table, a comparative graph of granulometry and the granulometric curve of laboratory analyzes with quantitative analyzes of percentage of water and organic matter. Another aspect to highlight was the great granulometric similarity between the samples from Itaguaré beach.
