SURVEY OF JUNDU VEGETATION ALONG THE SHORELINE OF PRAIA GRANDE IN THE STATE OF SÃO PAULO
Main Article Content
Abstract
Restinga vegetation, known as jundu, is typical of coastal areas and plays a crucial ecological role in retaining tides, preventing soil erosion and providing shelter for local and migratory fauna. The aim of the work was to carry out a survey of jundu species along the beaches of Praia Grande, São Paulo. Using the mapping base provided by the Secretaria do Meio Ambiente da Praia Grande (SEMA), the species of jundu found in each area were collected and noted, resulting in 24 species, of which 19 are native and 5 are naturalized. We suggest the removal of both naturalized species and those native to altered environments and that are not typical of Jundu.
