Main Article Content
Abstract
Acetylsalicylic acid is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. This study aims to compare, using acid-base titration, the concentration of this acid in tablets of different brands with the specifications of the Brazilian Pharmacopoeia, and to assess its physical and chemical stability in different locations, such as the kitchen, bathroom, and car. It was observed that none of the brands analyzed met the concentration prescribed by the Pharmacopoeia. In the kitchen and bathroom, samples B and C performed worse in the tested characteristics, and in the car, samples B, C, and D showed significant losses in mass of the active ingredient and concentration. Among those analyzed, sample A exhibited the best values, even though it did not comply with the legislative standard
