Abstract

The flowability of particulate materials is essential for the anticipation of safety measures during their operation in storage units and for the proper design and operation of machinery and equipment intended for their movement. The objective of the present work was to characterize the yieldability of non-transgenic soybean meal (NGMO) by measuring the angle of repose and the coefficient of compressibility. Experimental results provided a 32 degree angle of repose and a significant change in material flowability from medium to difficult flow after a 24 hour storage period.
