Abstract
The present work has a major challenge ahead, which is to address a recent theme: the burning in the Amazon during the period of 2019, which gained international repercussion for having reached the highest number of records since 2010, according to INPE. [1] In the meantime, several factors contributed to bring new elements to this discussion, such as the questioning of the INPE data by the Plateau, the crisis in the Amazon Fund, the negative external repercussions on Brazilian politics in the fight against fire and the preservation of the Amazon. Given this troubled scenario, this paper intends to evaluate the initial impacts of the fires and their reflections on the environment and the health of the population, seeking to contribute to a reflection on the matter.
