Abstract
Prenatal care during pregnancy brings many health benefits to the pregnant woman, in addition to being determinant for a healthy birth. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the characteristics of the birth of newborns attended at the São Luiz de Cáceres hospital - MT. The analysis of the medical records of pregnant women and newborns was carried out at the hospital. After the classification of the type of prenatal care of mothers according to the Ministry of Health, the clinical characteristics of the newborns were raised. It was found that 58.7% of newborns were mothers with adequate prenatal care, 15.8% inadequate and 22.3% intermediate. From this stage, it will be evaluated which clinical factors are related to the type of prenatal care offered to pregnant women.
