Abstract

Fishing is one of the most popular tourism and leisure activities in the world, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has suffered major impacts. The objective of this study was to analyze the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on recreational fishing performed in the Sustainable Development Reserve of Barra do Una (RDSBU), Peruíbe/SP. The work was conducted with amateur fishermen on board who frequently fish in the RDSBU, assisted by local fishing guides, through remote interviews on Google Forms. The days of fishing activity were changed and the frequency “decreased a lot” for 60.6% to interviewers due to the increase in costs such as fuel and food. Furthermore, the activity was impaired due to the change in the practitioners' income.
