Abstract
The practice of recreational fishing in protected areas in Brazil depends on technical documents aimed at its management and the conservation of resources. This work aims to analyze the management of recreational fishing in Brazilian protected areas through its management instruments. Four documents from Conservation Units were found, one of which was exclusively for the regulation of amateur fishing, the Use Plan for Sport Fishing of the Uatamã Sustainable Development Reserve (AM). No documents on Indigenous Lands or fishing sites and reserves were found, which are mandated by the legislative act that establishes them, in addition to federal and state legislation. The management documents of protected areas where fishing takes place must at least present the rules that already exist in the legislation, in order to actually achieve the conservation objectives as a protected area.
