The Health Demands of the Trans Male Population Ana Beatriz Gomiero dos Santos, Renato Braz Mehanna Khamis

Main Article Content

Abstract

The present work aims to map the main health demands specific to the male trans population, as well asto identify whether such needs are met by public or private health services in Brazil. The methodology adopted is the deductive method, through a bibliographic review of relevant works already published on the subject. With this, it was possible to verify that the male trans population has specific demands for mental, physical, gynecological and sexual health, in addition to those that refer to body modifications for gender affirmation. It was observed that most of these demands are not effectively met, given the still intensely widespread discrimination, the unpreparedness of professionals and the intense queues imposed by the scarcity of services.
