Abstract

The main objective of this article is to discuss the feasibility of including or not the patient in the Decision Making of treatments and medical procedures to be performed. It presents the Participatory Decision Making model using as an analogy the use made in business organizations, indicating the strengths and weaknesses and analyzes, as a specific objective, the feasibility of applying this model in Brazil. Therefore, an exploratory bibliographic research was carried out and the hypothetical-deductive method was used in order to answer the following question: It would be possible and beneficial to adopt in Brazil the model of Patient Participatory Decision Making Model in Choosing the Best Therapy. At the end of the work, the question raised was answered with a positive answer, but with reservations.
