Abstract

We preliminarily analyzed the capture by artisanal fishermen of Lagocephalus laevigatus (Smooth puffer) as a commercially viable fishing resource. Data were collected through a semi-structured questionnaire. We interviewed 5 artisanal fishermen, all male, aged between 32 and 50 years, the price per kilogram varied between R$15.00 and R$20.00 (average: R$17.00). Despite the small sample size, we observed a different behavior of the fishermen of SDR Barra do Una.
