From Rejected to Delicacy: Pufferfish fishing on the Southern Coast of the State of São Paulo Tiago Ribeiro de Souza, Amanda Aparecida Carminatto, Milena Ramires, Matheus Marcos Rotundo

Abstract

We preliminarily analyzed the capture by artisanal fishermen of Lagocephalus laevigatus (Smooth puffer) as a commercially viable fishing resource. Data were collected through a semi-structured questionnaire. We interviewed 5 artisanal fishermen, all male, aged between 32 and 50 years, the price per kilogram varied between R$15.00 and R$20.00 (average: R$17.00). Despite the small sample size, we observed a different behavior of the fishermen of SDR Barra do Una.
