Abstract
The study aimed to assess variations in the coastline and beach vegetation cover of Praia da Barra Una, located in the Barra do Una Sustainable Development Reserve (RDS) in Peruíbe, São Paulo. This was achieved by delineating coastlines through CoastSat software and calculating the Vegetation Index by Normalized Difference (NDVI) using QGIS software, employing SENTINEL-2 satellite imagery spanning 2018 to 2022. Within the 2.2 km of coastline studied, 1.01 km exhibited retreat, resulting in an 11.07-hectare sand strip reduction between 2018 and 2022. Additionally, beach vegetation cover in the same area experienced a suppression of 7.8 hectares.
