Kant and His Impact on Labor Justice: An Analytical Study in Honor of the 300th Anniversary of His Birth Antônio Nunes Pereira, Renata Salgado Leme

Main Article Content

Abstract

Three hundred years ago, one of the most relevant legal philosophers for the development of law, and in particular for labor law, was born. This article aims to assess the extent to which Kant's contribution to labor law is concentrated. The methodology of the study is exploratory and analytical, seeking to measure the references to Kant in the rulings of the Regional Labor Court of the 2nd Region, taken as a whole as a representative sample of Kant's impact on Brazilian labor jurisprudence. After the study, limited by the accessed materials, it was possible to identify references to Kant in roughly 20% of the appeal judge chambers on issues related to non-pecuniary damage, demonstrating evidence of the practical relevance of the legal philosopher in national labor jurisprudence.
