Direct Emission Calculation Methodology for a Gas Furnace Alexandre Tiago Martins, Aldo Ramos Santos

Main Article Content

Abstract

This study aims to demonstrate a methodology for calculating emissions of pollutants considered beyond stoichiometric ones, which are: CO, CH4, N2O, NOx, PM (Particulate Matter), NMHC (Non-methane Hydrocarbons), THC (Total Hydrocarbons), for a specific process furnace that uses methane gas as fuel. The methodology employed is based on the collection of experimental data from international databases, combined with the calculation of stoichiometric emission factors for CO2, SO2, H2O and VGas. From these data, the tabulated emission factors for the pollutants in question were obtained, allowing the quantification of the total emissions of the furnace.
