Abstract

This study analyzed the importance of polymer coating in electrical wires and cables with the aim of demonstrating its relevance in the safety, reliability and durability of electrical systems. The research explored scientific literature, technical standards and experimental results, demonstrating that the coating protects against fires, reduces smoke toxicity and resists environmental agents. It was concluded that polymer coating is essential for the safety and longevity of electrical systems.
