Abstract

Raman spectroscopy is a powerful technique, but noise and background signals can compromise the analysis. This study evaluated baseline correction by polynomial fitting (degrees 2 to 10) in brake fluid spectra, considering the preservation of the orthogonal height of the three main peaks. The most intense peaks were better preserved with degree 9, while the lowest one performed better with degree 5. It is concluded that the polynomial degree directly influences the quality of the correction, with degree 9 being the most suitable in most cases
