Abstract

The purpose of this research is to demonstrate thecommunicative and informational role of the Municipality of SãoLuís in combating Tuberculosis in the capital of Maranhão.Tuberculosis treatment is free and available through the UnifiedHealth System (SUS). It should be started as soon as possible incase of a positive test for the disease. Curing tuberculosis isintrinsically linked to tackling prejudice and stigmatization,therefore, it is understood that these obstacles can only beovercome through positive, safe and reliable information. Thisresearch sought to identify and qualify the official informationmade available by the City of São Luís, in the years 2022 and2023, in the fight against tuberculosis in the municipality. It wasconcluded that Municipal Management did not adequatelypresent the issue and has acted in a timid and fragmentedmanner, a stance that has increased the vulnerability aspect ofsick people and made a more efficient active search impossible
