The screen as a mirror – the search for the perfect body and its consequences Gisela Vasconcellos Monteiro, Carla Cristina Borges Santos
Main Article Content
Abstract
The screen became a reality during the pandemic, so much so that the vast majority of educational processes in 2020 were carried out with its mediation. Through it, bodies were exposed, observed, analyzed and commented on in a continuous flow, further exacerbating the search for the perfect body. The intersection between the social and the individual is the path to reflecting on the role of screens and the search for the perfect body. The path of democratizing body aesthetics is extremely valuable, and can contribute to freedom prevailing over aesthetic dictatorship, favoring creativity and diversity.
