YOUTH AND ADULT EDUCATION POLICY IN BRAZIL: FROM THE CONSTITUTION TO THE PREPARATION OF THE NATIONAL CURRICULAR GUIDELINE Carolina de Queiroz

Main Article Content

Abstract

The objective of this article is to address the policy that currently governs Youth and Adult Education in Brazil, since this type of education is still seen as merely supplementary in nature, and all of its specificities are not observed. In many educational institutions, NGOs and other places where education courses for youth and adults are offered, teaching is still infantilized, and the materials that are appropriate for them are not used. We believe that with the study of the National Curricular Guidelines for Youth and Adult Education and the more effective participation of the bodies responsible for teaching at this level, there will be success in the primary objective of education, which is the integral formation of the human being, allowing the construction of his/her intellectual, social, political and cultural autonomy. To develop the theoretical framework, a bibliographical survey was used in the National Curricular Guidelines for Youth and Adult Education itself, as well as all the documents that served as support for its composition, in addition to articles and books whose topics covered were: youth and adult education, legislation for youth and adult education.
