Abstract

This article aims to survey the issue of lethal violence against children and adolescents in Brazil, which has worsened over the years, and to analyze the effectiveness of the measures adopted. The most recent data on lethal violence against this group of people and related legislation were collected. Next, the bodies that make up the justice system were listed and how they can act to address the problem. Finally, the article suggests that action be promoted at the municipal level by the justice system, especially by the Public Prosecutor's Office. This is a qualitative study, a literary review, with a descriptive and analytical approach, of the statistical data on the subject and the judgment of the Claim of Non-Compliance with Fundamental Precept No. 635, known as the “ADPF das Favelas”.
